Tehran
University’s International Center for Persian Studies
(ICPS) was established in 1989, following a
recommendation by
Dr. Seyed-Ja’far Shahidi, the Director of
Loghat Nameh Dehkhoda Institute, which was endorsed
by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The
Center is aimed at teaching the Persian language to
non-Persian speakers and bringing together Iranian and
non-Iranian professors of Persian language and literature to
facilitate their research cooperation.
Since the Center's
establishment until now (Mar.2013), some 11,432 students
from around the world have learned the Persian language at
Center. Iranian & Non-Iranian students of Persian
Language and Art have attended higher level courses at the
Center, learning about Iranian literature and the
history of Iranian arts, and benefiting from the advice
offered by professors at the Center and at the
Loghat Nameh Dehkhoda Institute to complete their
dissertations. |
