Registration Information 2012

Applicants categories & Terms of Enrollment 

 

The applicants in this institute fall into three categories:

  1. Group A: Includes foreign applicants who require the help of the Center in obtaining their student visa. This visa will allow the applicant to enter the country but will need to be renewed upon arrival.
  2. Group B: Includes Iranian nationals and naturalized Iranian applicants.
  3. Group C: Includes Foreigners holding an Iranian residence visa/ permit, The following applicants my fall into this category : embassy personnel and their families, company staff members and their families, Turkish and Syrian Nationals and foreigners  who study at Iranian universities.

 

  Group A

Notification

Student Visa Issuance Procedure: Once you have sent us the personal data form ( Registration form ) and all the other five required documents, your application will be submitted to the Admission Committee. After your acceptance, the Center will contact the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) who will then authorize the Iranian embassy in your country to grant you a student visa; afterwards, a letter of invitation and your visa authorization number will be sent to you. You will have to wait for them to announce their decision to the embassy of I.R. of Iran in the country you are applying from.

  • All sent documents should be completed and typed in English, as the Admission Committee will not take incomplete documents into consideration.

  • Personal data form should preferably be filled out in typescript.

  • The six required documents must be sent to the Center at least four months prior to the course start date.

  • ICPS can only make an application to the MFA for your visa issuance, and is not responsible for its delay and CANNOT hasten it.

  • The approved applicant is strongly advised to wait for MFA’s response and our notification before they book any flight.

  • Students wishing to continue their studies at the Center beyond the initial term will benefit from the Center’s services to extend their visas. Such students will have to enroll in the next course/semester and pay the tuition fee accordingly.

  • Applicants who enter Iran with an Educational Visa are obliged to use one of the dormitories of University of Tehran or Danesh Pazhuhan of Shahid Beheshti University. Otherwise, in case of using other places, their Visas will not be extended.

  • ICPS DOES NOT register those who have entered the country on a Tourist visa (type B).

  • ICPS register those who have entered the country on a type  E(Educational) visa.

Required documents:

  1. The registration form: http://icps.ut.ac.ir/form;

  2. A recommendation letter from a professor, either in Persian or English, signed on the University letterhead (for students only);

  3. Copy of graduation certificate or current student  ID card.                                                                                                                            Note:In case it is in any language other than English, the official translation of your certificate of graduation is required.

  4. A copy of the first page of your passport information

  5. Your CV Including : your educational background, work experiences, extracurricular activities, e-mail address, address, phone number;

  6. A personal statement (not less than a paragraph in length), including :

  • Specification of the exact date of the course you wish to attend;

  • An explanation of why you want to learn Persian and the effect it will have on your life;

Required documents while registration in the Center (after being accepted):

  1. Three ID-sized photograph (3*4cm) ;

  2. The tuition fee (should be paid upon registration in the Center);

  3. A copy of first page of your passport and a copy of your stamped visa (which will be stamped upon your arrival in Iran).

Absenteeism: Students with more than four inexcusable absences will not be eligible to extend their visas. If this happens they will have to leave Iran.

Travelling in Iran: Students who intend to visit Iranian cities other than Tehran, must receive  official permission from ICPS. They can travel to those cities during weekends, official holidays or in between semesters.

 Group B: Includes Iranian nationals and naturalized Iranian applicants.

Applicants who fall into this category do not need to send us any documents. They must come for registration and submit the required documents a week prior to the course start.

Required documents (should be submitted upon registration in the Center) :

  1. A copy of your Iranian ID card or Iranian passport.

  2. Three ID-sized photographs (3*4cm).

  3. The tuition fee.

 Group C: Includes Foreigners holding an Iranian Residence visa. The following people many fall into this category: embassy personnel and their families, company staff members and their families and foreigners who study at an Iranian university.

Applicants who fall into this category do not need to send us any documents. They must come for registration and submit the required documents a week prior to the course start.

Required documents (should be submitted upon registration in the Center ):

  1. A letter of introduction from your respective embassy or company;

  2. A copy of your passport information and the page with your Iranian visa/ residence permit.

  3. A copy of your embassy ID card (where relevant) and ID card issued by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to foreign residents and their families

  4. Three ID-sized photographs (3*4 cm).

  5. The tuition fee. 

Turkish and Syrian Nationals, just like group A applicants, should send the 6 required documents three months prior to the course start and wait for the Admission Committee's decision.

After their acceptance in the Committee, they can register and start their study at this Center for three months with the Entrance stamp only.

However, in case these nationals wish to study at ICPS more than three months, they are required to not only wait for the Committee's positive answer, but to wait for this Center to issue their Student Visa and later receive their Visa number from Iranian embassies in their country of residence.

Rules and Regulations

  • Students with more than four inexcusable absences will not be eligible to take the final exam and therefore are required to repeat the course

  • ICPS DOES NOT issue certificate for the students with more than four inexcusable absences.

  • Ladies photographs must be veiled.

  • All enrollees, who have some knowledge of Persian language, will be given a placement test on arrival to assess their language level, followed by an interview. They are then placed in a class that matches their language needs.

  • In accordance with Tehran university admission regulations, International students must meet and pass Persian learning course as a prerequisite unit to be admitted in Bachelor, Master or PhD of other majors.
