FAQ

1.      1. Does ICPS offer accommodation? What should I do to apply for accommodation?

·      Group A applicants are required to mention in their personal statement that they will need a place to stay in advance. Or email us a month prior to their arrival to Iran so that we try our best to reserve a place for them.

·      After your registration is done you will be given an introduction letter for Danesh Pazhuhan Complex (DPC) of Shahid Beheshti University.

·      Where there is a high demand for accommodation, we cannot guarantee accommodation, specially a single room. Therefore, you can expect to live in share housing with other students or move to other guest houses, like Khaneye Sepid Guest House (for Gentlemen) or Nikoo Guest House (For Ladies).

2.      2. Is there any option other than DPC?

For the time being the only safety-guaranteed option is Danesh Pazhuhan Complex of Shahid Beheshti University.

3.      3.What are the rules in DPC?

Some of the rules in DPC are as follows:

1.      The earliest time to leave DPC is 06:00 a.m and the latest time to return back is 10:00 p.m.

2.      In case the resident wants to stay out, he/she must inform the dormitory's management in advance.

3.      Students may not have guests of the opposite sex stay with them in their rooms.

4.      4. Must I know some Persian language?

Some of the staff at Department of Education has knowledge of English language; therefore, you will not have any problem if you know English.

6. When should I book my ticket?

You should book your ticket as soon as you receive your Visa Authorization Number from ICPS.

7. How will I know that I can collect my Student Visa?

You will receive the following letter from ICPS with your Visa Authorization Number:

“With reference to your visa application, we are glad to inform you that your request is approved under No. ________. After 2 working days of receiving this approval, please approach in person the Iranian Embassy / General Consulate in ________.and collect your required visa.

Best regards, M.F.A / Passport and Visa Office.”

8. Can I work when I am on ICPS program?

You should not count on being able to work in Iran and if you are able to do so, you should see it as an extra bonus rather than taking it into calculation when working out your financial situation. The student visa allows you to work part-time, on condition that you inform International Students Consular Affairs at ICPS.

9.      9. What is the age limit for studying at ICPS?

The age limit for learning Persian at this Center is from 15 and older.

15. Can I pay ICPS tuition fee from abroad?

No, for the time being you can only pay the tuition fee upon registration to the ICPS bank account at any branches of Tejarat bank personally and return the receipt to the center. You will be guided by ICPS staff. (Credit cards are not acceptable.)

16. My speaking skill is good; however, I cannot read. How can I take the courses?

You are suggested to take the first two weeks of the Elementary (I) course where students become familiar with Persian alphabets and the basics of reading and writing skills after that you will be given a placement test (written and oral) and be placed in a class that matches your level of Persian language.

17. What kind of Persian skills are worked on in classes?

The four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are fully worked on.

18. I would like to stay longer than the duration of the course itself to travel for a few weeks through Iran when I have finished the course. What is your advise regarding my visa application?

Your visa can be extended for ten more days after your final term, in case your absent days do not exceed 4 sessions and your final marks are not less than 12/20. In case you wish to stay more than 10 days, you should leave the country and get a Tourist Visa and enter Iran again.

19. As a group A student how much should I pay?

A group A student, who requires the help of the center to get Student visa, falls into two categories:

  1. Student, who has majored in their university in the field of Persian Language, Iranian Studies, Islamic Studies and related courses of study ( Humanities)

  • This group should pay 4.200.000 Rials for each Intensive course ( e.g. Elementary I = 6 weeks ); therefore, the whole tuition fee from Elementary I to Advanced II will be 25.200.000 Rials.

  • This group should pay 5.600.000 Rials for each Normal term ( e.g. Elementary = three and a half months ); therefore, the whole tuition fee from Elementary  to Advanced  will be 22.400.000 Rials.

2.   Student, studying in courses other than the above mentioned courses, such as Physics, Mathematics,, Medical Science, etc.

  • This group should pay 4.900.000 Rials for each Intensive course ( e.g. Elementary I = 6 weeks ); therefore, the whole tuition fee from Elementary I to Advanced II will be 29.400.000 Rials

  • This group should pay 7.000.000 Rials for each Normal term ( e.g. Elementary = three and a half months ); therefore, the whole tuition fee from Elementary  to Advanced  will be 28.000.000 Rials

20. I wish to re-apply at ICPS. I was wondering if the application procedure is exactly the same given that, like in my case, I re-enter Dehkhoda Institute. Do you need the same documents for the application as if I were a new student?

Group A students who have previously enrolled at ICPS, left Iran and wish to re-apply at ICPS will only be required to fill out the form http://icps.ut.ac.ir/form.pdf and resend us their passport copy four months prior to the course start.
