The University of Sarajevo’s delegation in Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute and the International Center for Persian Studies

Prof. J. Havrich and Prof. M. Derkich, from the University of Sarajevo - Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with Prof. Drazi, dean of Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute and the International Center for Persian Studies. In this meeting, Prof. Darzi discussed the history of Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute and the International Center for Persian Studies. He further talked about students’ registration procedure, Educational Visa issuance and extension, published works in Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute in the field of Persian language teaching, and works being published in the same field about learning the four language skills and compilation of the Great Persian Lexicon and the presence of experts in the field of lexicography in this institute. Professors of the University of Sarajevo also stated that the University offers program of Persian language and literature from BA to PhD and that these Persian learners are so interested in this language. In this meeting, the two parties exchanged ideas concerning the establishment of a liaison office in Bosnia based on a cooperation agreement between the two universities and the Dean of the Dehkhoda Institute announced the Institute’s readiness to dispatch lecturer to the University of Sarajevo. Prof. Darzi also pointed out that this Institute is ready to hold Persian courses along with tourism services for Persian learners of Bosnia and Herzegovina beyond the school calendar. The Dehkhoda Institute’s guests noted the interest and will of the people of their country towards the well-known Iranian poet, Rumi, and they cited some verses of Persian poetry and at the end they visited the Dehkhoda’s Treasury Section and the Institute’s Museum and the bookstore. They further met I.C.P.S’s Persian learners in the Advanced I class and talked to them in Persian; the students also spoke about their motivation to learn the language and travel to Iran.
